1963 Ford Thunderbird

When you purchase a car, you usually get it gone through just to make sure it is safe to drive right? Well that is exactly why this 1963 Ford Thunderbird came to ICON. The Thunderbird had a problem with the transmission modulator, so a new one was purchased and installed along with a new transmission filter and fluid. The power steering pump had failed so again, a new unit was purchased and installed. The car was found to have many issues under the skin, centering around the brake system. The front and rear brakes were disassembled and totally rebuilt. This rebuild included new wheel cylinders, springs and hardware, shoes, drums, fittings, and gear oil. The differential was found to have its own issues so it was rebuilt as well including new seals and bearings. The car also was given a new air filter, fuel filter, master cylinder, fuel tank straps, fuel tank, and fuel tank sender. The T-bird then got its front end aligned and driveshaft re-balanced with new universal joints. The car was given a nice detailing, an oil change, and was returned to the owners. The car is now being driven safely all around the south bay.
