1967 Plymouth Belvedere

This Belvedere was brought to us for one reason, to make it an NHRA legal race car. The engine was already built by the owner and the car was already caged; other than that it needed a lot of work. The car was built to pass tech, which meant a lot of small items needed attention. The battery was moved to the trunk of the car, the heater was removed, and the holes in the firewall were covered with plates and subframe connectors were installed under the car. The car received a custom dash made in house to house a selection of Auto Meter gauges as well as wiring throughout. The 426 wedge engine was put on out run-up stand and fired up to ensure no issues would be faced once in the car; good thing as we found a leaking freeze plug. The plug was replaced and the engine and accompanying 4-speed was installed in the car.  While at the dyno, the drive shaft decided to break, so it was replaced with a stronger unit back at the shop and the rear axles were replaced at the same time to ensure a bulletproof combination. The new axles received a set of "green" axle bearings that were of coarse installed in-house on our press. After numerous passes at the strip the owner decided to install an automatic transmission for the sake of consistancy. The '67 returned and a reverse manual valve body 727 was procured  and installed with a B&M shifter.
