1968 Plymouth GTX

Six Pack GTX

After doing work on the Overhaulin Challenger, this 1968 Plymouth GTX came to the shop. This GTX had some issues that were engine related, concerned with a poor idle characteristic and poor performance. The engine was disassembled and found that only one head mating surface had been decked, throwing off the alignment of the intake manifold and causing a vacuum leak. The engine was the pulled and rebuilt. The owner specified pump gas, iron heads, and to retain the six pack set up. The engine was reassembled without issue and stabbed back into the engine bay. A 3-speed wiper motor was installed at this point to clear the six pack air cleaner base as well. While the car was there, Hotchkis front and rear sway bars were added as were electric fans to help cool the beast that currently resides under the hood. Minor electrical wiring was also performed and included replacing the engine wiring harness.
