1972 Plymouth RoadRunner

Currently undergoing light restoration, this 1972 Plymouth Road Runner was one of few cars made that year. It originally was a 400 4-speed an export car equipped as a "no frills" car having manual steering as well as manual brakes. Purchased out of Las Vegas, this desert car had some surprises of its own waiting for us, most memorable so far was the 20 pounds of desert sand that came out of the frame rails into a foot tall pile on the shop floor. Disassembled for paint, the car's now 440 and 4-speed combo was removed and stored while the car was sent for bodywork and a respray of its original Tor-Red pigment. Meanwhile the engine was gone through just to be sure everything was as advertised. The engine was then resprayed its factory correct blue. Currently the Road Runner has gotten the engine and transmission reinstalled along with the K-member. The factory strobe stripe was reinstalled along with "440" hood call outs to help break up all that orange. This car is currently resting in the shop while other projects take priority.

UPDATE 17 Feb 2008: The Road Runner has recently had some work done to it including the installation of the dash assembly as well as the cooling system and electrical system hooked up. The engine cranked over and started easily. The brakes received new front shoes and wheel cylinder for safety's sake and the car now moves under its own power.
